As community engagement is scheduled, information on meeting date, time, location, and purpose can be found here.
Purpose
The purpose of the Community Focus Group (CFG) is to concentrate on issues and opportunities within the Bannerman Road project area that are of main importance to the local community. The CFG is composed of representatives of homeowner associations and churches along the Bannerman Road corridor, area business representatives, and “at large” representatives. The CFG will be a channel for increasing community awareness of project goals as well as bringing forward community-driven ideas for improvements that could help to meet the project’s objectives. Discussions with the CFG throughout the life of the project will help the project team refine alternatives and will keep the CFG, and by extension, the larger community, informed regarding constraints placed on conceptual designs by current conditions, standards, and regulating agencies. This group will not be a voting board nor act as an advisory board and therefore will not be governed by the State of Florida’s Sunshine laws.
